Check out these pouches we found for attaching to a tree stand,
so you can unload your pockets and/or main pack first thing and not spend the day moving around retrieving odds and ends. This put them all at your fingertips. These are just a couple of them that are on this site.

Doesn't make Sense
Why go to all that bother of carrying that all up to your stand just to hang it up then refill it from your backpack or pockets????
Save your self some time and the risk of being seen or from making noise. Sixty% of what most hunters carry in is not needed. Think about it!

Makes sense to me. The pouch is attached to the stand and stays there. When I get up the tree, I unload from my various pockets what I've brought along, so it's at my fingertips throughout the day. It's a one-time download.
I don't know what anyone else takes up the tree with them, but when I'm in the stand for 12 hours there's going to be food, water, coffee, and probably a couple of calls. I can move around and dig in my pockets each time I want a bite to eat or drink, or I can have it right there.

badlands makes a couple waist packs that are designed to hang from a tree as a pocket in a tree stand. they are the tree hugger and the TSO packs. they are great and i would suggest ordering them from bugsnbullets.com cuz i got free shipping and gear when i got mine, but either is a great investment.

I carry a small camo fanny pack hunting with me. Once in the tree I take it out what I need (gloves, mask, call, bino's, thermacell) and put away things I don't need (flashlight) and hang it on a $.50 hook I have at each tree stand.
I don't know what people are carrying in the woods with them, but I stick to basic things I need with me. I don't even carry my truck keys with me as I park at a friends house.
