I noticed you haven' t tried the Gold Tip XT' s. All arrows will break given time - GT' s are the toughest arrows I' ve seen yet - they will still break, but will survive more than most others.

Roseaukaine,The 200' s and 400' s are less than 3 weeks old so i don' t think wear is an issue. The gold tips may be my next option. I have heard others say they seem to be the toughest they have found. Don

I used Tru-flite 2117s for the last 2 years. This year I ordered a dozen Easton Carbon Evolution 300s. I got tired of bent shafts. I' ll actually save money by switching because I won' t have to replace so many shafts.

Carbons for me as well. I switched from aluminums to the pultruded carbons several years back and was very pleased with the increased penetration and durability that they offered. But tuning was somewhat of an issue with those " ol' skinnies" so I switched to the Carbon Express ICS carbons. I did relatively well with them for a few years but had quite a few bend but not outwardly break and a couple also split at the nock end. So, I gave the Blackhawks a brief stint and found them to be just as bad if not worse. Now I am shooting the Beman ICS hunters and am relatively pleased with their durability, reliability and overall performance.

What is next? I do not know. When I find another ICS carbon that I enjoy shooting more then I will let you know.

I prefer carbon, because with my setup and only hunting deer, it still gives me plenty of punch to go through deer.

I like the speed you get from carbons.

I have played with carbons in the past, but always end up going back to aluminums.I' m only a hunting archer now,no time for 3-d or paper, so speed is' nt a concern.I only hunt from a tree stand and have NEVER had to shoot past 20 yards,(jinxed).I use a KELLER pendulum,so the only yardage guess work, " is that deer inside 30 yards" ,,,no biggy.
NOW,,,throw into the mix a nice dose of " buck fever" and I need ALL the help I can get....SO I like a heavy,,,slightly slower,,hard slammin aluminum.I like that whole " momentom" thing going on .I might even go to a 2219 Super Slam this year.Add a 5" hard helical feather,,the old T-head 125' s,,,,

I have used carbons (Gold Tip 5575) for a couple of years now, but I just switched back to aluminum arrows.
I' m shooting a much tighter group (might not have anything to do with carbon or aluminum?) and my bow is much quieter now.
For what little speed I have lost, I' ve gained a whole lots of quiet! You can' t shoot an arrow fast enough that a deer can' t jump it, but if he can' t hear it, he can' t jump it either!
I don' t think I' ll go back to carbons again!
