Default Scent Killers

I was wondering if I should buy new scent killer every year or if it is good from year to year. I know most scent you buy is worthless after one season, except for the synthetics. But what away scent killers?

I' ve never read or heard anything about scent killers going bad from one year to the next. I hope they don' t, ' cause I' ve been using left over from one year to the next for several years.

I' ve been on the same 1/2 gal. for 2 years now with no noticeable impact . Still smells the same to me and the deer . If this is worrying you perhaps you should stick to making your own , it' s very easy .

Rack buck, The recipe is 16 ozs. of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 16 ozs. of sterile water, about a half cup of baking soda, and a teaspoonful of unscented liquid soap. Mix this up in gallon jug, preferably a milk jug with a pop top lid, and let it sit about week or so and your good to go. I made some last year and I believe it works as good as store bought stuff. By the way, I was told the pop top lid was for just in case of expansion from the chemical reaction. I never had a lid blow off when I made it last year though.

I know one thing you can do it next time you go camping out in the woods. Get pine needles, leaves, dirt, whatever you can find and put it all in a bucket with you hunting clothes. If you put in in a freezer for maybe at least a day or so then sun dry it, it' ll give natural scent. Not sure what you could use to stop mildew, i miss that part of the tip my dad gave me lol
