Default Question for Hoyt owners

I' m asking this for my brother, and future self. My brother has a 2000 or 2001 Hoyt Magnatec. I picked up the same bow used a few wks back as a backup, but haven' t done anything with it. My brother is trying to find a drop away rest for his Hoyt. His proshop tried to install the Copper John Bobcat, but discovered they couldn' t get the vanes to clear, because of the built in overdraw. The proshop tried to time the rest, but they claim its a common problem with the Hoyts, so another single prong has to be installed to prevent your arrow from hitting the rest or shelf? Is this true??

You have heard the arguments about a level nock travel. This is what happens when the cycle is not level.I tried to install a quick tune drop away on my magna tec.The nock tavel is so bad you could not get clearance.I talked with NAP and Hoyt and the verdict was that this type of rest would not work on many types of bows due to the nock travel.I was not a happy hunter!!! I love the bow but it does have nock travel issues.Mine is a Redline HO.

I cant imagine the nock travel being that far off on a bow thats properly set up and tuned!

My Hoyt is set-up with a NAP 2000 dropaway and I have perfect clearance--even when using the biggest 5" vanes. Level nock travel is not an issue here.
