I' ve seen exactly 2, both in New York. 1 fight between 2 mature 8' s lasted all of 5 minutes .. 4 minutes and 45 seconds of stare down and 15 seconds of all out fury before the loser went bolting away with blood pouring out of a puncture wound in his neck.

The only other fight I saw was between a real big 6 point who should have been an 8 just never grew the extra tines and spindly little basket racked 8 point. The fight was in the last 30 minutes of light on the edge of a field and was about 80 yards from me. They circled each other stiff legged for a few minutes .. they tinkled them a bit then seperated ... then they just rushed each other with a full head of steam... it sounded like an explosion! .. the spindly 8 gave up some ground and then they seperated .. the little 8 half assed lowered his head to fight again when the 6 point backed up, raised up on his back legs like a BigHorn Sheep and just like a BigHorn Sheep he built up momentum and came down like a hammer on that little 8...the 8 wasn' t prepared for the blow and his back legs buckled and he got ROLLED straight over backwards. He called it quits after that. They fought for the right to hang around 2 does and that 6 point STRUTTED around like the boss till dark. Now on the way out that night in the dark I heard 2 deer lock up again in the same area and I' ve always wondered if a real bruiser had just laid low till dark then drove the 6 point off.

I' ve seen many, many little sparring matches but only one knock down drag em out fight. Also none of these were from my stand. The big fight was pretty wild and it was a long time ago. It lasted a good while too.

I also, have never seen an all out fight while hunting. And I don' t really recall too many times when I seen two bucks together while hunting.

But I did see (I believe on an NRA hunting tape) one scene where two bucks ganged up on another buck. It was the most brutal fight that I ever saw. The two bucks nocked the other buck out. The guy hunting in the stand with his son thought the buck was dead. When the buck woke up, he had a very badly broken leg, but the person in the stand couldn' t get a shot off to finish him off. It was something.

I have never seen actual antlers hitting. I have seen bucks " square off" and circle each other all bristled up and flexing - they probably would of went at it. but since on of them got a thunder head flung through its lungs - it wouldn' t of been a fair fight...man that was a few moons ago

I think I have heard it a few times, but in the public woods I hunt who knows if it was deer or a hunter. Probably just Atlasman banging some horns together

As much time as I spend in the woods I would of thought I would have seen at least some sparring, but I never have, like WV Hunter I have a feeling it is due to the huge number of doe we have to bucks, why fight, there is more than enough to go around!

Never seen it from my stand but I have seen it once while stalking. It wasn' t a full blown fight, more of a pushing match and it didn' t last very long.

I have seen them, but not when on stand. I have seen remnants of one in front of my stand that took place over night. Hair all over, leaves turned up, scrapes in the ground, etc. I did witness one that was about 100 yards off and could hear them, but ever so slightly. It was two equal looking bucks (very nice) and along comes number three...and he was a big boy. He barged right in the middle of the two of them and created a threesome. The two " smaller" bucks knew that they were outgunned and left after exchanging their headgear collisions several times with the big guy.
