hunting? For me the answer is yes. Walking the field edges checking crop quality and the amount of deer tracks, peeking through a tree lined fence row that separates different wooded areas and fields to see if anything may be feeding, then sneaking down to the corner to see a huge deer does it for me!
2 months and 13 days until season opens.............yeehaw!!!!

I don' t know if I get as excited, but I enjoy it just as much. Concidering I am in the woods scouting and setting up stands about ten times more than I actually hunt - I better enjoy it
For me hunting is the easy part, a vacation of sorts from the much harder work of scouting and setting up. All the real decisions, and choices - the ones that make or break a season come during the off months for me - thats when the little Indian Rack-Attack goes to work....LOL
I love it all

Not even close. I' ve hunted the same land for the last six years or so. My scouting consists of moveing to take advantage of the trails the deer are prefering at a given time.

I certainly get excited while scouting when I find all these great potential spots for the upcoming season. However, nothing compares to being in the stand when that buck (or doe for that matter) comes into range.
For me, it' s Sept 13, 58 days to go and counting....

I will rate my top three excitement levels.
1. The release.
2. Seeing the deer coming in.
3. Scouting and finding that magical spot.

Taz, I' d add a fourth and that' s following a blood trail and maybe a fifth and that' s eating some fresh backstrap and telling about the hunt or listening to someone else' s story of the hunt.
I hunt the same 300 acres every year and I love to see a different big buck track that I havn' t seen before. Sometimes you can' t tell one buck track from another, but sometimes them tracks have characteristics that you can remember. That gets me going and I get excited the first of september when the bucks are running together and most of the time it' s easy to get a glimpse of what your hunting that fall.
