Default How do i know if rest and string are aligned?

Bow tech put my bow in the upright position, backed up and eye-balled alignment. He said it looked pretty close but adjusted it slightly left. We then paper tested and the hole looked perfect (never paper tested before). Got home and shot the bow and it went from shooting 2 inches right to 8 inches left at 20 yds. Obviously i can adj my sight to compensate, but it made me wonder whether eye-balling it is a decent way to align.

Have faith tealboy. You shot paper and got a good hole. Now group tune and set your site.
