what to do
I scouted some public hunting ground last season and saw some tree stands hung up so I didn't hunt it. They looked permenant b/c they were nailed and there still there. I didnt just see these stands and decide they were good spots I researched these areas before I went out. the hunting regulations say no permenant stands what should I do there are 4 stands on a 30 acre island

Well if the law says permanent stands are illegal and your local CWO does not do anything about it call the regional office. Then the HQ until you get satisfaction. Dont be shy telling the chain of command the nonchalantness of those lower on the chain.

If the stands are up on public land here in Ohio
They are breaking the law
I would hunt them
Get GPS numbers and give them to the Game warden
Keep track of when you talked to him and what he told you
If the local Warden will not do anything
Call and tell or Email the numbers to the ODNR
Tell them the local Warden was told and what he said
1-800-WILDLIFE (1-800-945-3543)
or
e-mailing [email protected]
We had a poaching problem and the local warden would not look into it
We contacted Columbus with all the info we gave the local GW
The next day ( sunday ) we were contacted by a Distric Warden and the local one retired a month later
So don't just give up
Public land is for everyone
