I just got a new bow and was wondering if anybody has seen or tried one out. It is an Archery Research AR-31. So far shooting it has been a real pleasure!!! Very smooth and extremly quiet. It is not as fast as my Mathews UltraMax but it has virtually no hand shock and all I can hear when shooting aluminum arrows is the bodoodle rest rebounding and feathers flying in the air. It does make very little noise with carbons but not as much as my mathews or my proline new wave point blank.I It is not the fastest bow I have shot but at 301 IBO it is no weakling either. With very little set up and tuning time I have it shooting in the same 6" circle at 35 yards with my fieldpoints and broadheads. I hope to tighten my groupl up a little bit more but I just switched to shooting righthanded this year and am still working on my form. (I have been a lefty for over 20 years) At $599 I feel like I got a heck of a bow but was wondering what anyone else has seen or heard about them.

Dave: I shot both the AR31 and 34. Liked them both, just was looking for something a little different. I do know they recalled the 31s for a limb pocket problem. You might want to ask your shop if this was one thats been recalled and was it returned for the fix. Seems to me, if they were shot at the lower end of the weight range, the limbs would shift. It was an easy fix for the problem, but I' d ask just the same. Enjoy your new bow.

Yep, Ive had my 34 for about three weeks now. It shoots great, just as good as all of my Mathews bows, but I like the smaller grip better. Im shooting Easton carbons and 68 lbs and it is also faster, quiet, and as you said no hand shock. Cant wait for the first day of season to try it out the right way.

the AR' s are the QUIETEST bows that i have ever shot, period! all you here is the string coming back to brace. i have shot only one bow that " I" feel has less vibration and that being the Mathews Legacy. the big difference being in that the Legacy is decked out with the latest " rubber gadgets" while the AR is designed without the rubber. that to me is worth something when it comes to engineering comparisons.....

TECbownut, you should try shooting the AR with all of the new rubber gadgets. I have limb savers, enhancer, 4 string leeches, cable dampner, and a Doinker D-2 stabilizer on my 34, and it is totally silent and shock free, SWEEEEET!!![8D]

Nub, Thanks for the info on the recall. I called Archery Research and they said that all the bows that were affected by the recall have been returned and updated. From the way the guy at AR was talking, most of the bows never left the dealers that had them. Thanks again, Dave.
