I've been to France quite a few times and I have nothing bad to say about them. It's a beautiful country with beautiful people. When I was at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, the French were there flying sorties right along with the Air Force and the Navy.

It is no more just to judge the French people based on what their government has done than it is for the rest of the world to judge you or I by what our government is doing or has done.

As to the orginal question posed by Frank.... I think it's an idea that in theory would work, but in reality it won't help at all.

I guess they are trying to adjust they eays way you can get a huntinglicence in France. Every course over 80% of the people taking the tests are from Belgium. Should I fail to pass in my own country, I'm over the border first thing next year.
I still think it will help, having your personal number on the arrows.
Not to prevent accidents but to make a mental note to the shooter that he's responsible for his actions....

If a hunter doesn't already have a mental thought that he's responsible for his actions, then he/she isn't much of a hunter to start with and I don't think a number on an arrow is going to change that. Maybe if thier parents raised thier kids properly, they'd learn then that they are responsible for all thier actions, not just while hunting.

See, rules, tests, and beucracy isn't the American way. People want it to be. But having to jump thru firey hoops for a God given right to hunt should not be mixed up with politics.

This mentality is the same mentality requiring all of the history checks before purchasing a firearm. It keeps the honest folks honest, but for those that intend to commit a crime, they are not going to go thru the normal channels and wait for an approval from the store. They will find a way around the system.
