the french have had a good idea
Hi, I don't know how you feel about this, but I actually think they had a good idea, the french.
Since last year, every bowhunter in France, resident or non resident hunter has got to put his huntinglicence registration number on every arrow he's carrying. I think this will stop those dumb@sses who try headshots or texas heartshots..... Just wanted to hear your thoughts, I'm glueing vanes and just passing time..... Frank Belgium |
what exactly would the number on the arrow prevent from happening is the question? People wound animals all the time, sometimes its thier fault, sometimes not. Either way its not illegal. Only thing I could figure is trespassing in which case one would just take arrows without the number on the arrow. Idk, seems like too many ways around the law to me, but thats just my opinion.
|
Sounds like Big Brother to me.
|
I have hunted Texas and was told to put name, address, and phone # on all my arrows. BTW Texas is in America, and still doesn't stop poachers!!
|
I wouldn't think it would be a problem in France. I would think the problem would be the French Hunters surrendering to a deer as soon as it was in bow range.
|
Bad shots will happen even to the most veteran hunter. Not sure what this would accomplish. One, rarely do I not get my arrow back even if I do loose the deer. Two, it opens the door for scrutiny from those wishing to hurt hunting.
For instance, lets you did have a bad shot and hit a deer in the head, hit a twig for instance. Let say an anti-hunting group pushed and pushed to have the book thrown at you. A new hunter might be hesitate to go in the woods after that. |
the state of nh also requires name and adress of hunter on vanes,,,thats why i dont live in nh or texas or france,,,i have enough to worry about than petty junk,,,what happens when you move somewhere else ,,,yea buy anouther doz arrows,,,not me

Bad idea, give them a inch, next they will want a mile.
|
funny but how true
|
How often does anyone see these bad shots. I don't think I've ever seen one. We're out there to kill animals, wounding has got to be acepted as a consequence.
Oh I get it now, what would happen to the person who did it? A fine. |

Nothing good comes from Europe,...then they will want serial numbers on your broadhead registered to you
|
The French can do what ever they want for all I care. I have no plans to visit or hunt in France. I have been hunting a long time and I do not need extra BS to get the job done. It seems you like a bunch of rules, regulations, certifications and certificates. I hunt to be independant and provide meat to eat. Thats the way it is here.

I do not think we need anymore rules or regulations to go by.
|
They had that in my state but revoked it later . it was a bad idea it stopped nothing
what next your name on bullets too. It idn't stop poaching they are already breakingf the law so putting your name on won't stop them they will just leave it off |
In the past if France would have done that with bullets they would know who to thank for saving their sorry butts :arms:

roll o the floor laughing my a** off :sign0004::hail::hail::hail:

In our defence; wasn't it the europeans that discovered America ? I'm sure I read that somewhere..... |

exactly right, I think people who never been to Europe, France or Belgium should shut their piehole....... But that's just another opinion. I've been to the US a couple of times and I have to say, some ideas I had about you guys were true, some weren't..... And if I compare it to Europe or even Belgium there is a lot of common ground..... |
And if you guys ever get invaded by Canada, we'll come and help you out. Ok ?

I've been to France quite a few times and I have nothing bad to say about them. It's a beautiful country with beautiful people. When I was at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, the French were there flying sorties right along with the Air Force and the Navy. It is no more just to judge the French people based on what their government has done than it is for the rest of the world to judge you or I by what our government is doing or has done. As to the orginal question posed by Frank.... I think it's an idea that in theory would work, but in reality it won't help at all. |
What's next, a limit on how many arrows you can have on your person while hunting...

I guess they are trying to adjust they eays way you can get a huntinglicence in France. Every course over 80% of the people taking the tests are from Belgium. Should I fail to pass in my own country, I'm over the border first thing next year.

See, rules, tests, and beucracy isn't the American way. People want it to be. But having to jump thru firey hoops for a God given right to hunt should not be mixed up with politics. |

They bowhunt in France?
This mentality is the same mentality requiring all of the history checks before purchasing a firearm. It keeps the honest folks honest, but for those that intend to commit a crime, they are not going to go thru the normal channels and wait for an approval from the store. They will find a way around the system. |
