Magnus, what do you think???

Hi all I am going to be doing a Bow Elk hunt this fall, I have been thinking about going with a 100 gr cut tip style. BTW, I currently use muzzy 3 blades. I was thinking either the stinger or magnus 100. I have used Magnus 125 & 150 Gr versions in the past on different setups and was very pleased with the results & know they make a good head. However I will be shooting carbons and find the 100 grains the best fit for my current setup/needs for the season, as I will be hunting wt deer & bear on this same trip & when I get back Mule deer season opens up...so I really don' t want to be changing if at all possible.
So at this point my choices are:
Stick with 100 gr. 3-blade muzzy
OR
100 gr. Magnus
or
100 gr. Magnus Stinger
or
100 gr. Magnus Stinger with bleeder blades (4-blade). (which I orginally thought was the ticket, but now I am not so sure if those extra blades will help or hinder in an Elk)
Any thoughts or recomendations. Much appreciated all
Thanks,
Skeet

I as just going through the same delima as you. I was considering the stingers and muzzies also. I finally decided on the G-5 montecs. They are a true cut to the tip head. No blades to come loose. Solid from tip to tail.
I chose them over the stingers cause I would rather have three blades cutting a hole instead of two blades cutting a slice. Also contrary to what some say they can be very sharp. They were not that sharp out of the package but it doesn' t take much to get them there.

My personal two picks would be the Magnus Stinger 4 blade 100 grn or the Muzzy 4 blade 100 grn. Either of these two will get the job done, and very well. I also agree though that the monotecs are an outstanding product and one to consider as well.

I can' t really comment (from personal experience) on any other than the Magnus 2 blade 125' s. You say you' ve shot them, so you know how they perform. I wouldn' t hesitate to shoot them for elk(if you decide to go heavier). You should expect fantastic results. I know 5 shot has done alot of testing with all the Magnus heads, and they have perfomed extremely well. Knowing what I know about the 125' s...I' d defintitely opt for the 100 grain, probably stingers. I would think 2 or 4 blade would both work excellent. Check his site for the reports on these. I' m sure the muzzy would work well also, but I think I' d opt for the magnus.

Thanks guys.
I may go with my gut and test a pack of 100 gr Magnus Stingers (4-blade) and see how they fly/perform. I have looked at the Montec but I can' t find them anywhere but mail order in the US, so they haven' t sat high on my list for that reason.
Keep the info/suggestions coming, many thanks.
