Looks like they want to allow us to get back to having some fun. Being called an arrogant ass isn't all that bad. I say....people are starving to death in Ethiopia and what is your problem?

No, it appears, I have a tad more experience than you with them. But you still have time.
You mean like wieght I keep hearing you guys toss around. Oh yea, they are less than 10lbs. Some of my bench rifles wieghed almost 15lbs. I hear noise, but at 400fps, I wouldn't feel to handicapped with that. But handicapped is only ones that should be allowed.
Commando, you got to be a real man to come out of East Ky. We let the western Ky guys wear panties.

What about getting a second shot or moving to shoot a deer to the side or behind you? What about shooting without a rest? Even at 400 fps ( which is faster than most xbows) sound travels about 3 times faster. So it still gives a deer more time to react to the extra load noise.
You say you know people that hut with xbows. Do you think they are lazy scum like you have stated here?
You also don't believe that most xbow hunters state they take shots a 30 yards or less. The only reason you say they take long shots it to make them look like they have it easy and are unethical. You try to discredit them by spreading lies and you do not back up any of it with facts. Yep, a career in politics is made to order. Spread BS and don't need any facts to backit up....you are perfect for the job.

I have to chime in. I view the true trad hunter with the utmost respect. I am a compound hunter..actually started out with a fiberglass long bow but suddenly the compounds were on us and I switched. I stuck with fingers for a long while then after a few new bows they got shorter and I switched to a release and never went back. Some day soon I just might try to go backwards a bit and try out some of the traditional technology. As previously stated my line in the sand is compounds and I don't really consider the xbow to be high on my respect meter. I understand that people like BC and others probably view my hunting like I look at the xbow. As long as it is legal hunting and it is fair chase and falls within your personal ethics it is good and we should all agree with that. I remember in my early bow hunting practicing with a long bow and having a problem hittng a beer case carton at 25 yds. Then the compounds came and I had no problem hitting a cigarette pack at 35 yds. I switched but now I am curious at how well I could do if I tried trad. I know a lot more about shooting a bow. I just might give it a try. Going to a crossbow isn't going to happen.

Mark you're loving it aren't you..
Sell that pop corn...I'm enjoying the stir! If they only knew.

I get a kick working trade shows and having guys tell me how much they know and why I should try this and that.
Then they see me hit an egg 80 plus yards then they shut the $%## up!
I sometime get tired of hitting my head against the brick wall of ignorance!

The pic you posted of the Airrow Rimfire setup a little ways back would fit the bill of what you and Rev keep referring to as an "arrowgun". A crossbow is a bow mounted on a stock, and they were around before "guns" were a glimmer in their inventors eyes. Therefore, one could say with legitimacy that a gun is an imitation of a crossbow as a crossbow was the first weapon that was held in that fashion. Ancient crossbow shooters were still called archers in a battle formation. You, Rev or anyone else can preach, chant, rant and rave all you want, but a crossbow is just a horizontal bow affixed to a stock. It is the bow that propels the arrow, and that, in my opinion, is the very core of what defines what archery really is.
I hunt with a longbow, a compound and I have hunted with a crossbow, but I couldn't get rid of it fast enough when I healed after shoulder surgery. They're too clumsy, too loud and not nearly as accurate as their denouncers would have everyone believe. I am far more accurate at closer range and longer range with my Drenalin than I could have hoped to be with the crossbow. It wasn't a P.O.S. crossbow either. It was a Tenpoint Pro-Slider. I can honestly say that in my experience, unless you've practiced with a crossbow, fought with one to sight it in and sat a stand with that boat anchor of a weapon in your hands for hours on end, all of your arguments are void. I have a much bigger advantage with my Drenalin than the crossbow could ever have given me.

I said i wasn't going to post anymore,but can't help myself!
Compounds have came along way in 40yrs,but it took most of that for them to reach 300+fps.
And how long did it take the xbow once they went to a compound system? And how much further will they go. As the demand grows so will the speed, remember they don't have to over come the limit of the shooters ability to draw and hold thier weight.
So Where does technology take them?
