The most durable I' ve found is a sand pit. Shoot into it all day and all you have to do is re-rake the sand. Since the sand sits at an angle, it makes an ideal target surface when practicing out of a treestand. I am primarily a tree stand hunter, so I prefer to practice with my broadheads out of a stand.

The cheapest styrofoam block I can get. I usually find one for around $20-30 and my last one lasted for 2 season of broadhead practice. I use my bag target until a couple of weeks before the season then switch to broadheads.

Definately holds up well.....I don' t have a bunch of shots in it (300-400) but there is so much area to shoot at that it will take a while to shoot it out. Heck it' s already lasted longer than the Block I bought last year.
Also for what its worth, I shoot a 485 gr. arrow @ 275 fps with a muzzy 4-blade or Snuffer on the front and it BARELY penetrates out the back of the target.
