If you do, then what's the story behind it? How old were you? And a picture to go along with it would also be nice, if you have them. If you need someone to post them, email them to me at my website address. Thanks.

No picture... with a bow it was 31 years ago. It was the last day of the season with daylight fading fast. I was crammed back in a bush stradling a log. All of a sudden there he was not 5 yards away directly on my right. In what seemed an eternity he finally walked out and across in front of me. My old recurve hit the sweet spot at 7 yards.

First bowkill was a doe in 1981. About 1/2 hour before dark a doe and two fawns walked by at 20 yards. I shot and then got down with my tree stand (old Baker) and walked to where I thought it had run. She only made it 50 yards.
First buck was my second bowkill and was with 10 minutes left in the season in 1984. I had missed this 8 pt. 2 days earlier at 6 feet (shot right over its back). Walking out the morning before I found his scrape so got off work at noon the last day, climbed a tree and straddled a limb 14 yards from his scrape. Saw 14 deer that afternoon. Rut was in full swing. Ten minutes before the season ended saw the same 8 pt. walking 35 yards away. Rattled and he came into the scrape. Proceeded to spine him<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. Scored 113. My best to date.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. it was 35 years ago.I started out using a recurve
at age 17 shooting with fingers.I shot a doe the first year, out of a tree stand in a wooded area behind a school. The next year I shot a 5pt. again out of a tree stand near a fresh rub.I was set up in a pine tree and he walked along the trail, stopped about 15yds in front of me.He ran about 75yds.You never forget your first deer or buck.

First doe I shot (198something) was when I was walking back to camp from my stand after a morning hunt. I saw her coming about 100 yards off, so I got beside a big beech tree. She kept feeding on acorns till she was about 25yds away. I lunged her, she hopped about 5 times and fell over. Grave-Yard DEAD

My first buck was the next year, I think. I was in an old baker stand. (Still have bruises from that stand) I had some turkeys behind me, and I was really wanting to see them, as there weren't as many as there are now. I heard one coming right under my stand, so I leaned out a little and looked over and there stood a little 4pt. I drew and shot the deer right between the shoulder blades. He tore off down the mountain and I heard him crash.

Both these hunts took place on our farm in WV.

I remember both like they happened this morning. Can't remember a damn thing my wife tells me...but ask about a hunting story from 15yrs ago---

My first bowkill was a small 8 pt. buck in my first yr. of bowhunting on October 17, 1977. Was I excited! I was all of 8 ft. up a tree in a homemade stand. It took me another 3 yrs. to shoot another deer, my first doe. Back then our limit was 1 deer.

My first doe was when I was 16 uh a year or 30 ago. Shot it on the ground with a 40# blackhawk bee and micro flite glass arrow tipped with a bear razorhead. 3 16 year old kids tracking in the dark till 11+Pm with a bic lighter for light. Finally found it and came out to find the game warden and state police at our car. (our parents were a little worried since dark was about 6:30PM and had a search party out for us) first bow buck was several years later. A grouse hunter bootede a forkhorn by me at mach 4 but only 6 feet away. I swung through and stuck his heart. Thanks for starting this thread. brought back some neat memories!

I arrowed my first deer(doe), four years ago when I was 15. I walked to a near-by creek by my house. Saw a buck and doe. So I snuck up to about 20 yards. Made a shot a little far back. Came back a couple hours later and trailed her and found her laying down still alive. So I arrowed her again, this time putting her down. Here's a pic:

My first buck came the next year when I wa 16. I got up in the stand and hour before sunrise and he came walking by at 15 yards facing me. I shot and hit him. He ran 200 yards with the best blood trail I've ever seen, before he went down. It was a weird 9X5 that dressed 185lbs. Here's it's pic:

Neat reminiscing, everyone. kshunter, that's a lovely buck.

This was my first, a mule deer which I double lunged from 28 yards after stalking him for about 15 minutes. He ran flat out for about 150 yd and piled up in mid stride. That was in 1996 and I took my first doe 2 years later, a whitetail which I also stalked.
