DECOYS
#2
The Carry-Lite decoy is a good choice, very realistic.
I paid $120 several years back, I think Cabela' s
has them for $145 now....a lot of money unless
you plan to use it often. I' ve had some fun with
mine though it' s a real hassle getting to and from
my stand sites. My partner used it last year and
shot a nice 140 class buck... he was fixin' to kick
some butt[>:]
.
Forgot to mention we always set it up as a buck
and tape small strips of white garbage sack to
the ears and tail to give the illusion of motion.

I have the Carry-Lite and used it several times last year with no luck. I have a Tail-Wagger installed on it. To be fair, I didn' t get to hunt the whole month of January, which is supposed to be the peak of the rut here.(got my tonsils out)
The only action I had was when a dude shot it with his arrow. (look for " Dang, he shot my Deer Decoy" thread)
I have since painted all white on it hunter orange, so maybe that will solve that problem.
I is a pain to carry though. But, like the 2 books I have read on decoying deer say, sometimes it takes going that extra mile to make things happen.

I agree with the rest!!! But if you have a MaKenzie 3-D target they work just as well!! We taken a lot of bucks using our targets even when they have been shot up pretty good!! Last year the 6-Pointer my brother-In-Law took came in to just the head part of the target leaning against the back of a tree, just enough of the head sticking out for him to see is all it took to bring him in at 20 yards!! And I got that on video.
