Covered up body, therma cell, and Sawyer's Permathrin clothing spray. The bugs down South will get you through those light, early season shirts we all wear.

As my 4-year old step-son would put it....."Suck it up and be a man!" lol

Just kiddin, I use a therma-cell. Defnitely the best thing for those stupid bugs. If you dont want to drop the loot, try some scent free bug repellent.
