I won’t kill a fawn. So young and innocent, how could anyone snuff the life out of a creature that barely had time to sniff the air it’s breathing. What’s the challenge? I mean, a BIG buck is much more of a challange for my equipment and ability. I’ll just wait a year or two, then kill it. I’m a conscientious compassionate hunter.

I won’t shoot does. It’s possible it could be impregnated, and I would be killing possibly three deer. That’s out. Wouldn’t want to be labeled with those late term abortionist guys. And, I might be taking out a potential P&Y before it’s even born. No place for that sort of irresponsible audacity in hunting.

I won’t shoot small bucks. Need to let them grow up into big bucks. Then I can kill them with a clear conscious, cause now they got more growth on their head. Isn’t that how our hunting prowess is measured? By how much growth is on the animals head? Who doesn’t support QDM?

Hmmmm. What’s that leave? Mature, monster bucks. That’s it! I’ll just wait around for one of those to show up. Who cares about tenderloins? Venison roasts? Summer sausage? Jerky? Pictures and mounts are far more important.

My goal remains what it has always been. Meat in the freezer. After that, I'll get "choosey". Friend of mine let two doe, and a four pointwalk last year, because he became obsessed with a really nice buck on his property. I ate good, one of them was one of the does he let walk. Empty freezer, empty head. Funny, he had no problem eating my deer.

Why do some hunters want to push their agenda on others? I don't get it. HOW can anything be wrong withANYhunterkilling ANY deer that is taken legally and ethically....if taking that deer makes that hunter happy?

I agree Jeff! No one should tell anyone else what they should or should not shoot.

If you kill something and it makes you happy then I am tickled to death for you.

Some people lose sight that this is a hobby. Have Fun above all! Kill what you want & when you want to kill it.

Alot of people care about those things. I know of many people that all they eat during the year is venison. My family eats three deer a year. Many other family's eat more. I can take 6 legal deer in our season. I usually only take what I need and if I know of a family that needs meat, I will donate one to them.

As for my standards:
Any 1 1/2 year old or olderdoe
130" or above buck (unless it is physicalinjured in some way)
