Bowhunting Goals for 2009?
#41
For 2009, I'd like to have fun and successful trip to Colorado, don't care whether I get a cow or bull elk, I just hope to score an opportunity at one, and bring back some GREAT pic's of the beautiful country I'll be hunting in. I'dliketo have a successful Ohio archery season, in which I fill at least a couple antlerless tags, and hopefullyconnect with one of the several bucks that I passed on last year that should be shooter worthy this year. Maybe even stick a turkeyif the opportunity presents itself, but it's not really something I'mgoing out of my way after. But most of all,I hope to enjoy the 2009 hunting seasons.

Good thread Dan.
I have already done something this year I hadn't done before killed my first turky, just a bonus it was with my Allegiance.
I would like to kill my usual one doe for the freezer BUT get it done on video.
Then hang out the rest of the season waiting for a shooter buck (for me), better then my best to date.

Big Congrats on the Turkey!!! Any Turkey with a bow is a nice accomplishment indeed.

I would like to get my first turkey with my bow,,
I would love to get lucky and draw a Maine, Moose tag ( bull or cow )
Also shoot my first pope and young buck... ( only 1 deer per year up here unless expanded archery zones closest being 2 hours away )
Most of all have a safe and enjoyous season..

My deer hunting goal is the same as many years in the past. I would like to get a mature buck with the bow in Wis. I would like to do the same with my rifle in Wis. and Minn. I'm still thinking about an out of state bow hunt as well but I have to see how things work out.

The same as last year. Shoot a Deer with my recurve. I had one good chance at a Doe and shot low! I had 4 small bucks that gave me a shot but I passed on them. That might change this year. I want a deer with the Stik and string! BAD!!

To shoot any thinbg..hog or deer.
I'll be hunting my 3rd serious season...I hunt in a highly pressured WMA..,as of yet..I haven't even gone full drawn yet.
I have had 2 opportunities.
#1..My bow was hangin up on a hook when a 15 yd shot on a doe appeared out of nowhere..[&o]busted
#2.A hog was 10 yds away..I got the shakes so bad I couldn't unlock my knees or pull my bow back.[&o]He stayed for 1 minute total..could not unlock the knees and the shaking was outrageous.[:-]
So at this stage of the game..a full drawn.. downed animal would be super great.
