Bowhunting Goals for 2009?

RE: Bowhunting Goals for 2009?
This year I plan on hunting more then just one property. I plan on trying to switch things up a bit and keep some spots free of scent while the big boys are only moving at night. My main goal is to shoot a Mature Whitetail... either buck or doe... but of course I would rather shoot a buck. Last year I shot two deer which was my first two kill season, I hope to match that or do better. Id really like to fill up the freezer!!!

I have a few animals that would qualify for P&Y but I would like to take a personal BEST Whitetail. Been eating my Buck tag for about 5 years now.
Not much else since this is the start of my 53rd year bowhunting-I'vebeen blessed to have donealmost all I wanted Bowhunting-Whitetails, Mule Deer, Caribou, Elk, Hogs,Turkey, Sheep, Black Bears, Buffalo& some Exotics.

1- Have a safe and fun season.
2- Get my brother more hooked on bowhunting.
3- Take another good 100 + inch buck here in NJ

RE: Bowhunting Goals for 2009?
1. Get within range of 3+ mature bucks
2. Increase my knowledge of hunting specific terrain features (topo map study-a lot of it)
3. Get onto my first private property lease with a few other guys (very close to closing a deal on 400 acres on great land)
4. And of course as always, kill my first mature buck with my bow (would be my first ever as well)
5. Make more productive hunts in the month of October, specifically the first week so as to increase my odds of an early season buck

Excellent thread idea Dan!
My best wishes to all of you in achieving and surpassing all of your goals.
Goals for 2009/2010
Assist my son in taking his first buck with a bow. He has already taken two does.
I would like to help some more friends of mine take their best bucks to date, something I had the pleasure of doing twice last season.
I have a fellow board member coming to hunt with me who is from a state not known for producing big bucks. I would love to see him kill one that makes him happy.
I would like to take a 150" or better with my 82nd.
Take my usual 3-5 does for the freezer.
Other than that, have a blast and stay safe.
