Wayne Zaft is being investigated by Edmonton Better Business Bureau after receiving the following complaint in follow up to the Manitoba Consumers Bureau actions against Trophy Whitetail reproductions who manufactured the replica. Here is a copy of the original complaint............." Not too long ago, a hunter by the name of Wayne Zaft arrowed a deer that he thought was potentially the new world' s record typical deer by bow. For the past 1 ½ years the deer has been referred to as the pending or potential new world' s record. However, the organization that determines this, namely Pope and Young, have denied Zaft' s claim after the rack of the deer was panel scored on March 8th of this year. Pope and Young' s sister organization, Boone and Crockett, have also denied/rejected Zaft' s claim. Boone and Crockett is responsible for game record keeping of all animal regardless of method of harvesting, whereas Pope and Young only consider animals harvested by archery. After being rejected by both organizations a magazine called Buckmasters proclaimed Zaft' s deer to be their #1, but only in 1 category and there are 20 different categories in this organization but they are not the official World Record Keepers. However, Wayne Zaft is continuing to herald his deer as the new World Record even though both organizations that decide these things have rejected his claims. He refers to his deer as the new World Record on his web page ( www.zaftbuck.com ) I believe this to be a gross misrepresentation of the facts in order to drum up business for his operation, Wayne Zaft Hunting adventures. I hope you can set the record straight."

What was it again that made Boon & Crocket any more offical than Buckmasters? Or " 6ptsika' s World Records" for that matter? Get a life.

Well apparently the Manitoba Consumers Bureau think it' s just P&Y that is official (as does 99.999995 of the rest of the bowhunting world) because any reference to it being the World Record at whitetailreplicas.com have been forced to be withdrawn. I' m willing to bet the Edmonton BBB will set Wayne straight as well.

6ptsika, even Buckmasters magazine doersn' t proclaim any of their deer as World Records, not wanting to infringe on P&Y and B&C. All of the deer are referred to as BuckMaster Trophy Records (or Buckmaster' s Best Bucks). You will never see any deer listed there refered to as a World Record. If you have any question regarding this contact Aduston Rogers at (334) 215-3337 ext. 247. He is the Trophy chairperson for Buckmasters. They are very careful about referring to animals being listed as Worlds records when they are only representing their magazine.

White Raven, I know one thing, if anything bad ever happens to Wayne Zaft, you better have a really concrete alibi, because any decent detective will be checking you out!!
