I must be in the 00.000005% that think Pope and Young and Boone & Crocket can take their additudes and their self proclaimed gods of the deer hunting world stick it.

I don' t know anything about the Zaft buck as most of us don' t(only what we have seen in print). They seem to have a way of discrediting anyone who doesn' t kiss the ground they walk on.SO WHAT!!!

I know from family dealing with Boone & Crocket first hand how they operate and it is bogus.

My step dad' s uncle killed a buck back in the 60' s that was the state records when they had it scored in the early 90' s.we were called everything frome liars to cheats to poachers and everything in between. The deer scored 188 6/8 and is still in the top 10(I think) but it took about 2 years of accusations to finally get the deer recognized as an honest kill. Then another year to have it listed.

NO thanks,I don' t need any of their kind to legitimize a deer that I harvest.

TFox, you' re right you don' t need P&Y to legitamize your deer. But you sure as heck need their approval and confirmation before you go around calling something a World' s Record and trying to make money off the claim. They are the only authority that can grant this status for archery harvested animals only.

White Raven.

Why are they the only authority that can claim a world record? What makes Buckmasters scoring any less of an authority?

Really the question is who put them in charge?

I certainly didn' t.

They are private organizations and really nothing more.Where or how did they achieve this statice?

I really would like to know and not just slamming.

TFox, to be honest I don' t know how they came to be the authoritative voice on the matter, but they are. It' s a lot like athletics or any other endeavor. Unless the governing body that oversees such things declares something to be a record, it isn' t. Where would we be if every Tom dick and Harry decided to start therir own trophy organization. There can only be one World Record. Do you think John Smith who runs 100 m in 10.0 seconds for another organization (best time for this organization) is the WR holder because Joe Bob who runs the 100 m in 9.79 seconds and is the WR holder only according to the IAF (a different organization)?

I swear to God that I don' t mean this in a mean way but I have never seen White-Raven post here about anything other than Zaft. Dude there is a big huge world out there filled with fascinating topics and events. Get out there! Explore! Wayne Zaft and the status of the deer he did or didn' t kill and who did or didn' t rate it number 1 doesn' t rate this level of obsession.
No one will ever know besides Zaft and the rancher the exact details surrounding this deers death. So why worry about it? I just simply look at it this way. I admire the rack as a magnificent set of horns grown on the head of one of Gods creatures. Regardless of the circumstances in which they came into Zafts possession or what organization scores them in which category, nothing changes the simple fact that they are one of the most beautiful set of horns I have ever seen.

I' m wouldn' t down P&Y or B&C or Buckmaster... a measurement is a measurement. I know that WhiteRaven didn' t write the BBB complaint but whoever did, come on! That' s who needs to get a life!! Sounds like he' s got a feud going on with ' ole Wayne ~~ who incidently I' ve never heard of

But seriously who really is going to go with his outfit and his prices and his locations JUST because he' s got a world record... sure it may fool a few, but who really thinks that cause he stumbled upon the monster deer (it must be to contest anything) that he' s that much better/worse than the next guide???

BTW, I' ve met the guy who FOUND this deer at the link below... he was humble enough to admit he stumbled upon it... not completely cold yet, could have put a bullet in it and said he got the kill. But he didn' t. HE SAID HE KNEW THAT IT DIDN' T MATTER THAT MUCH!!

you would be amazed how much money some of these guys make. They go to hunting shows and get paid to do seminars just to tell their stories. Milo Hanson came to the buckarama in atlanta this year, got paid to talk then charged people 10 bucks to get their picture took with his buck and there was a line to do it why do you think he fought rompala so hard didn' t want to lose that gravy train he said he makes six figures ayear on that buck. guess hunting just for the sheer joy of it is kinda getting lost by some
