I bought my first compound about six years ago, a PSE and I had it set at 70# maxed. I went through a couple
more bows at 70#, today I shoot a 60# bow maxed and really like the lighter pull. I draw more smothly and have
more convidence when drawing on a animal. Have you went from higher# to lower# or vice versa or stayed the same?

I went down to 60# on my new bow as well, last three where 70#s....agree I like the 60# draw a lot more, but I'm no beefcake so it was an easy decision.

I had my Vectrix XL50#/60# maxed out at 63#, but lowered it down to 58# because it was actually hard to draw after sitting for long periodsin the Alberta cold. That 5# made a BIG difference! I'll crank it back up to63# for the '09 Pa season though.

My first bow was 70-85 and I shot it around 75. My current bow is 60-70 set at 65. My future bows will be 50-60.

With bows getting faster and faster, and my shoulders getting older and older, dropping is a good thing!

I remember when I 1st bought a compound 25 years ago. We all shot 30" draw and all shot 70#. Some guys Anchored behind their ear, but that was the way it was. No releases and we all shot fingers with no peep sights. Bows had very little let off to. I shoot 64# now and that is actually overkill. My 2 bows I currently own, were awesome deals on 70#. I wish I had 60# limbs for them.
