Default Our very first bird, ever

Finally did it this morning. Only a jake but I shot him at 15 yards with my new Renegade Alpha 1. The best part was it was with my six year old son! Season opened at 5:26 this morning. We were in the blind and set up by 5:15. Gave a couple of yelps at opening to see who was around. Three gobbles in different locations. The little guy would call and they would respond. This went on until 6:00. At 6:15 I gave a couple of yelps. Five minutes later here came " the 3 Jakes" strutting away. We were in our Doghouse blind and they were close. Wasn' t sure if I was going to take a jake. 3 birds that close, one hour into opening and with my little guy. Doesn' t get any better. Except he has to go back to school tommorrow.

Awesome Jacko. Some pics with the little guy holding up the jake would be nice.

Congratulations. I hope to also be able to do the same thing with my little guy in a few years. I hope to get one tomorrow from my doghouse though as well.
