Trail cam on a stan for thiefs
Last year as most of you know someone stole the ladder from my 2 man ladder stand. I though about taking a cheap trail cam and setting it up even with the hieght of my platforum to catch a picture of one on or stealing my stand.
Do you think i could brush it in so they could not see it but still get a pic. What cheap cam would be good for this
I do not want to spend 200 bucks to catch a pic of someone stealing a 200 stand and steal the 200 cam but i would like the picture of the son of a b*tch so i could turn it in to the cops ofcoarse.

X2 on the moultrie i40 great camera, great pictures, I absolutely love it, oh yea and they are $99. The best part is after you catch the dude, you still got a great camera.

Or he will steal the camera as he steals your stand. Theirs no good way to catch him. If hes going to steal your stand, hes gonna see the camera then you can say goodbye to your hard earned cash. Lock your tree stand to the tree with a locking cable and lock it through a place in the stand that cannot be taken apart. Also, if your stand is right next to a road, youre just asking for trouble. Get that sucker in deep woods and fewer people will be able to find it. I've had one in the woods for the past four years now and noone has probably ever found it. And its never been touched by anyone but me.

well since my knee has arthristis in it i can get a permit for the dnr parks to use the access roads normaly off limit which mean i will properly be the the deepest person in the woods. I will drive untill i can drive no farther which in most cases is about a mile then walk off the access road so far.

X10 on the i40! We have a few of them and they are excellent for the price. Now... If you really wanna catch the guy and not have to worry if he takes the camera or not, get one of the expensive ones that sends pics to you at home so you will catch him even though he thinks he got away Im not sure exactly which models do this but it would definately work. It would be ironic to say the least for him

i have a new thing that i amplanning ondoing in rifle season.
i have one property that butts up to town, i caught 3 poachers this year with warnings of prosecution in their future. i even caught one in the act of dismantling my feeder last year, he was smart enough to avoid a fight by running as fast as he could. i have lots of trail cams and all sorts of expensive hunting equipment out in the woods being stolen every year with a number of poachers chasing my game all around.
i have researched a couple of different hidden gps units that i am thinking about placing in either the corner of the seat coushin of the a treestand or hidden inside a trail cam. i will putthe stand or camerain the most obvious spot, i won't even give them the troubble of having to bring bolt cutter out.the gpscosts 300 but it saves me thousands in the long run, and a lot of much needed pay back with fines. i even pay to put their names in the local newspapers to let everyone know who is poaching and stealing.
