Default Doe in estrus scents?

Tell me what you think about this. I was talking to a fellowat the Harrisburg Show who guides in Alberta. He was telling me about a situation where he washunting and decided to try out some sort of new doe in estrus scent (name isn't important) this past season. He told me he had a buck come in close enough to get a wiff ofwhat he had put out.
He said it turned that buck inside out, and offwent that buck! He said he'll NEVER use any kind/brand ofdoe in estrus scent ever again. He said after he thought more about what happened, he concluded that a buck in a given area must KNOW the "specific odor" ofeach individual doe in heat in that area. This makes aWHOLE LOTof sense (no pun intended) to me! I neverhad any luck with them in the past anyway. What do you guysthink about this?

I have sworn off all scents minus real tarsal glands. I tried them for years with NO success. My life is easier when I don't have to worry about applying scent and having to constantly worry as to whether those scents actually hurt my hunting.

Ive used scents with no or little success. IMO there just a gimmick and a waste of money. Ive tried em all and the only one Ive ever had a good response to I can no longer find. Sure theres a time and place for all scents but if you can get on a good location you dont need to use them. They no longer have a place in my hunting gear.

IMO...all lures and scents are junk. After 30 years of bowhunting and hundreds of dollars spent on every imaginable brand...I have found it to be a waste of $$. I prefer cutting tarsal glands off of roadkill rutting bucks if I feel the need. That will get some positive attention at times

I've tried it a dozen times and it seems to draw the smaller "curious" bucks.
Or possibly a buck that has traveled to a new area in search of a hot doe.

I think if you've done your homework to locate the buck you want to shoot and then play the wind, you'll do alright.
Just let the little ones pass and patience will prevail, also cross your fingers, cause a little luck never hurts.

My buddy collects Doe pee in the snow, he melts it, bottles it and then labels it to use in that area he collected it from.
He claims that he wants a familiar smell to draw them out of there beds sooner...

I won't argue with his wall![&:]
