A prayer request for Levi .... ***UPDATED***
#72
WOW Tony, having been in healthcare for a lot of years, I know the battle ahead is a TOUGH one, but also one that most KIDS will fight much tougher than adults. It's just heart-wrenching to see any kid going through what this little fellow is going through. I have a scare of my own just over a year ago when I thought my little girl may have had Leukemia because her blood counts were totally messed up. Ended up being a reaction to an anti-biotic that she was on for her bladder reflux disease. God blessed us after giving us a scary challenge by healing her bladder and making it so we wouldn't have to worry about "Which anti-biotic to use anymore," or "What to do if she had a recurrence of the infections," etc. I pray that God will guide Levi and his family through this very difficult time and they will have many great years ahead of them.

We just recieved some not so good news this afternoon. As you know Levi's lines have a mind of the're own. He needs to have 17 viles of blood taken on Wednesday for pre-transplant testing- ya 17! It would truly be a miracle if the lines would work. If they don't we have go get a little bit done every day from his arm, and he really only has one good arm. We do not want him to have to go through this, please pray for a miracle!
Never count God out
......
Guys and gals .... here is the latest ..... KEEP PRAYING!!!

God is great! Levi's tubes worked today! Thank you so much for your prayers. They were able to get just about everything they need, we have maybe one left. The rest can be done after the new line is placed.
Radiation has been going very well. They told us side effects would be mild and probably wouldn't show up until next week. But we are still on i.v. antibiotics every eight hours. So staying up late and getting the first dose in by 7 am so that we can be at radiation by 8:30am is getting pretty tiring. We will be done with this first batch of radiation Saturday morning. Levi's ANC is still below 500. It is actually so low they can't get a reading on it. We would like very much for this to go up. When is is low it keeps him at risk for fever and infection.

ok ... the latest update ........
MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2009 05:06 PM,CDT
Last week was a long, rough week! We are still administering iv antibiotics every eight hours (anc is only 130) have to keep it up until anc is over 500. Levi has recieved 6 transfusions in the last two weeks. He just cannot seem to recover from the chemo treatment he recieved three weeks ago.
Wednesday is his surgery at Children's for his new line.
We will be back at Roswell Friday for pre-admittance stuff, And then Saturday is the big day. Admitted indefinetly, Well at least for four to six weeks.
The first few days they will be wiping everything out with chemo and radiation.
Then on April 3rd he recieves his new bone marrow. His immune system will be bad and at times he will be tired and not feel like eating. Please pray about this. Eating, drinking and getting exercise will help in his recovery. Please give Frank or Alisa a call if you would like to visit, there are some restrictions and things get a little tiring for everyone when he is not feeling well. From what we understand the first two weeks are the hardest. But keeping his spirits up is important so please call.
