Fall away rest

I like the way they call me bigpapa,
QAD's can have clearance issues can't they?
Regardless, the best rests as far as I'm concerned and gracing my bows because they are are Limb Drivers, Trophy Taker Pronghorn MT and I'm real interested in the new Octane Dropaway.

Noisy WB?!?!? Mine makes no noise...maybe you have the wrong size?
My rest on my old compound was one that had 3 metal prongs that held the arrow (like the new hostage rest but metal) It was the loudest rest I have had. but the deer never heard it.
And it worked for many years and it share of deer.
The captured arrow drop aways are cool but its something to fail IMO. I'd like to try one some time but for hunting, the WB and hostage are awesome rests. My oppinion of course.

I'm a restaholic. Every year, I look at all of the new stuff to see if there may be anything that'll catch my attention. I primarily a hunter and have few demands as far as rests go. Good containment, silence and accuracy.
As of right now, there aren't many rests that fit the bill for me at least. I've been shooting an APA Twister rest for 3 seasons and have not had a single issue with it. I really do love that little rest.
That being said, I have my eye on a couple right now. I am going to pick up a Whammy one of these days and give that a whirl. I'm also interested in the new prongs that the Limb Driver are coming out with. The current LD, while a great rest, has zero containment. Sure you can use those god aweful stick on arrow holders, but I'm not very fond of that configuration. Same with the new Octane drop away. Looks like a fine rest, but without some sort of arrow holder on the shelf, there isn't any containment built in.
I also have a QAD LD laying on my bench that might see action too. I like everything about it with the exception of having to cock it everytime you shoot. It has proven to be a great rest with the hunters.
Other than that, I haven't seen anything ground breaking coming out yet.

I have used setup and sold most of the dropaways on the market. IMHO the Limb Driver is the best out there.
If you need full containment, newcontainment arms will be available in about a week.

I like the QAD better than the Ripcord for 1 reason. Say you draw on a deer and the shot isnt what you want, and you cant hold your bow anymore, IF you let down with the Ripcord it is going to fall all the way to the shelf. Where as the QAD will stay in the upright position, It is Inertia(sp) driven.
I did have clearance issues at first with my QAD but once i got it set right and tuned in i have no more issues.
I also have a Trophy taker pronghorn on my other bow and like it also. Its all an opinion, try different ones and see what fits you the best.
