RE: Fall away rest
I'm a restaholic. Every year, I look at all of the new stuff to see if there may be anything that'll catch my attention. I primarily a hunter and have few demands as far as rests go. Good containment, silence and accuracy.
As of right now, there aren't many rests that fit the bill for me at least. I've been shooting an APA Twister rest for 3 seasons and have not had a single issue with it. I really do love that little rest.
That being said, I have my eye on a couple right now. I am going to pick up a Whammy one of these days and give that a whirl. I'm also interested in the new prongs that the Limb Driver are coming out with. The current LD, while a great rest, has zero containment. Sure you can use those god aweful stick on arrow holders, but I'm not very fond of that configuration. Same with the new Octane drop away. Looks like a fine rest, but without some sort of arrow holder on the shelf, there isn't any containment built in.
I also have a QAD LD laying on my bench that might see action too. I like everything about it with the exception of having to cock it everytime you shoot. It has proven to be a great rest with the hunters.
Other than that, I haven't seen anything ground breaking coming out yet.
