Default Hey guys its been awhile....Buck Pics '08

Hey, been a long time since I posted on here. I have been working out in the field and not near a computer. Anyway, I just got moved to Jackson, Ms and I'm bad displaced on my hunting areas. Is there anyone in this area that can give me some advice other than the public land. I checked it out and really Im looking to possibly hunt some hogs on private land in the off season since they (landowners) can obtain the permits. And I'm sure I'll be hunting a place to turkey hunt in the spring....Its good to be back. Im going to try and post a pic of the buck I got this season a little later on.

Heres the pic of my deer 12/23/08 this is the only buck over 2 1/2 years old that I saw this season. My biggest to date. Recap.........Tried one of my spots in Chester Co, tn to no avail that morning and went to get some late lunch in town. My girlfriend was coming home from memphis and I decided to meet her at her house and hunt a little while I waited. So I drove over two counties, geared up, and headed to the woods. I decided to hunt a cut over from a ground blind since deer activity in the area was always better on nasty days like it was. I made it about half way to the ground blind when I turned to see this buck coming straight at me with his nose to ground. I have to say that being there and seeing that was probably one of the prettiest things I have ever seen. Just watching the bucks behavior was spectacular. He never saw me as I drew a bead when he crossed my path at 50 yards. First shot went through the base of his neck and he didnt fall just stood there! He whirled at the second shot and stopped again! Third shot he fell. Tried to get up and run. I dont like watching animals suffer. Thats my big thing. It just eats at my soul so I put a bullet behind his shoulder and that was that. I realized that I was shaking so bad that I couldnt dial my phone. Ha I danced and hollered. I was ecstatic. Still am. Come to find out I missed the buck on the second shot. And normally I would never, never, ever shoot a deer that much. Over shooting really. Watching the deer before the shot is something I will never forget. Also Ive never seen a buck with this much scarring from fights. His nose, both inside hams, shoulders (large patch looks like maybe from a car?), neck and face had open wounds or scars on them. The largest on the hams probably about 8" long 1/4" wide.
