Does anyone have any suggestions on guides in ID or NM for a Bull rut ELK hunt? Myself and a buddy are looking in the range of $4K to $5K to pack in.

Any referrals would be great and if anyone has gone on a lot of these hunts any suggestions to be wary and/or watch out for would be appreciated also.

What type of hunt are you looking for? Help packing you into the deep country with a camp setup and you do the hunting, or fully outfitted from the get go with a guide for hunting as well? OK with sleeping in the mountains, or prefer a lodge? How many days do you want to hunt?

Gotta get down a list of what you want out of a hunt, and THEN search for an outfitter to meet your criteria...not the other way around.

Thanks TEembry....We are looking to pack in (Horse) to a camp/tent with a guide 2 hunters to one guide. We are looking for a minimum of 5 hunting days in ID on NM. I have been told there are larger ElK in those states. We want to go during the rut for Bulls.

I could save you some serious money if your interested. I have an abundance of knowledge of Idaho..

If not, some outfitters that come to mind are Bear Paw, Sage Outfitters, And Kohls..
