Are you serious??? You really believe a mountain lion can grow 9 feet and longer in body length??? Have you ever seen 1? That is from nose tip to butt .. 9 feet and longer ... well there are exactly 2 cats that can attain the lengths you descibe.

Tigers ..... and African lions. 9 1/2 feet would be the top end for the lion, and would weigh approx 500 lbs at that size.

We can agree to disagree then, but they do factor tail length when measuring American mountain lions .. and the tails of cougars ARE 1/3 of that total length.

But if I am wrong .. and we have suddenly started growing lions out west that are 9 and half feet long in body length alone ... well I' m glad I moved back east a few years back, because a cat that size could take out just about anything, including grizzlies!

WR,

" Body length: 6 feet.....neck and head...3 feet...tail...2 1/2 -3 feet. Yes i guess I do."
That' s a little different than your previous " smoking gun" of...

Shakey, it' s a scientific fact that an average cougars body is 7-8 feet long. And this is supposed to be a huge one which could go as big as 9-10 feet (and that' s just the body). Maybe you could explain to us how it is that the World Class cougar only extends from the man' s chin to slightly below his knees?
I gotta give you credit though...you' ve got a heck of a mean backstroke. :D

Measurements are given from tip of nose to base of tail. This is the body. And these measurements are from 6-8 feet for the average cougar. The WR P&Y was over 12 feet when the tail was included in the measurement.

Well at least HE agrees now that the average length is 6-8. Its getting closer.

And why do I have to call " Bob" .

O.K, Enough kidding around, Check my " cougar" I shot ( Maybe). Give me your best " guess" , is it " fake or not" and if it is real how big is it? The cat I mean.

I will tell you the truth latter when I get your answer, W-raven.
And I promise not to lie..........:)

please note page 3 of the Utah Cougar Management Plan, where it states that at 3 years of age when the cougar becomes full grown, it will measure from 6 feet to 8 feet in length from the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail, with a rare few being slightly larger or smaller

You just stated the World Record P&Y mountain lion measured 12 feet from nose tip to tail, which is the most unbelievable thing I' ve heard on the internet in awhile. Scott Moore' s animal harvested in Wyoming in 1993, the World Record P&Y Cougar, was just a hair over 9 feet from nose tip to tail tip. An INCREDIBLY large animal, but only 6 feet of it was body, and 3 feet of tail.

I' ve seen 3 cougars in the wild, they are impressive creatures, but they are not the size of tigers and african lions as you are insisting they are.
