Do you use the tree strap that comes with the unit or a different one? I use a summit viper and when I use the tree strapI dont have enough slack to be able to sit down and pull the bottom of the climber up. Im scared of heights so I have to be strapped up while climbing or I will be scared to death. Does anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed?

Yes, thats the same one I use, but its kind of bulky and doesnt pack as well as the Tree Belt.

I don't have a Summit but here's what I use. I ordered it from Lone Wolf.

I use the LW tether, too. I keep the caribiner (sp?) attached to my tether....and keep it stowed in the LW saddle bag on my stand.

I also use a seperate rope. The strap that comes with the HSS just isn't long enough, and has bound me up before, when I try to turn around for a shot.

I have the Lone Wolf and use it also, depends on how much stuff I carry in. If my stand is hung I use the Summit rope, If I have to hang, it's the Lone Wolf.

I cut the folded over sections of the strap loose. The ones that are supposed to tear away if you do fall, lessening the shock. That lengthened it enough that I don't have any problems with it now.
