Great Morning Second Rut In Full Swing!
Had a great morning. I had two non-shooters at bow range at first light that kept looking out into a cut soybean field. I looked out their and saw a 120 class buck just looking around. All of a sudden a doe starts running around and a monster 150-160 real dark chocolate starts chasing her. They're were a total of five bucks chasing this yearling around the field. I get ready because I knew they would be running my way and I needed her to take a right but of course she went left. 8:30 had a flock of 20 turkeys hang around for quite awhile. 9:00 had a eight with a busted left side come into a little rattling sequence but had to let him walk. Around 9:30 had three doe come downwind of me panting like crazy. They wind me and the 140 9 point in toe pegs me too. I let the does jump the fence under me and the buck circled away from me. He crosses a creek and stands there at fifty yards. I put the 40 pin shade high and release.....Thwaack....hit a limb. Oh well. That's hunting. I would still be out ther but I'm watch my alma mater NW MO ST Bearcats play in the national championship. I'll go out afterward. It was a great morning. Good luck guys.

I have pics from this last week and evidence this morning that that are hitting the scrapes pretty hard right now.
Didn't see any bucks just a couple does.
How long does the second rut usually last?

Walking out I saw three scrapes that were definitely being worked up. I think as long as yearlings are coming in heat bucks will be looking.
