PA LATE Season RUT, in full swing NOW!!!
Took my Smoke Pole for a walk this morning, and did I ever see the deer.......First group had eleven in it. A nice buck, a NICER buck, and a so-so buck, and several nearly worn-out doe!
Yes, I know some of you will say a buck don't tolorate the presence of another buck with a hot doe around, but REMEMBER......THIS IS THE LATE SEASON!!
Earlier the bucks ran off all the other bucks, and eventually all but the "hot doe" he wanted to mate with, but now, that the deer are beginning to bunch up for the winter, and the bucks are not in as good a condition after the other two rut sessions, they are more tolorant of each other.
The last week or so I had been noticing a lot of new rubs, and a few scrapes that appeared to have been worked a bit. Today I saw several very freshly worked scrapes, one with the urine so fresh, that it had not yet frozen dry!
Yelp, dug out the old tree lounge again, and set it up at the end of one of the scrape lines. Let's see if I can shoot me one of them doe's.

If the biggest one had brow tines, it was a 12 pointer bout 22-26" wide!!!!!!!!
We did not get a close enough look to see if there were brow tines, but saw the other points.
