Who is shooting old bows?I started out with an old wing compound shooting fingers. The reason I ask is I see all these old bows hanging in bow shops and pawn shops and seems like everyone wants the latest greatest on the market. Are all these bows now worthless junk?

Worthless is not how I would describe them....Sure they aren't worth alot of money. However there are some good ones out there. You do need to know what your looking at though.
My coumpound is from the early 90's and is slow by todays standards. I can shoot 3 - 4 inch groups at35-40 yards. I did recently upgrade to a newer bow because the limbs have a tiny crack developing in them. Its not gotten worse but I figured after 14-15 years it was time. So it gets retired with my first compound.Unless I can get new limbs for it so my duaghter can use it.The other retired one is a mid 70Bear Polar 2. I killed my first few deer with it. It never fit me rightbut it is what I had and it worked. My new one isn't the most expensive but one I spent more on than any other bow. Its a Bear Instinct. I like it so far.
Now as far as recurves and longbows. I have some of those from the 50's. They shoot great. I make my own selfbows and there is nothing modern about them. With Traditional you need to know a little more what to look for so you don't buy a pretty wall decoration. But there are deals to be had. If I had more time to practice I'd never take the compound out. But 5 kids makes it hard to find time.
bottom line in my opinion is there are some fine hunting bows hanging in some of those pawn shops. If your just starting out especialy.
