I would go prerut to get there when more bucks are trolling and looking and not locked up with does. I'd go the first week in Nov or the last in Oct. Bucks are ready, does are not. I'd look at those two weeks and pick the one with the darkest moon. Too early the bucks are still grouped up and you all or nothing. Later they're spreading out and trolling... many more chances of being in the right place. I don't care if it's Ohio or wherever... I prefer that time to hunt. The rut is fantastic if you catch it.... but it can also be really frustrating as all patterns go to hell.

Yea like the others siad. Find out what they're eating, thats your best shot. In my opinion, if there is adoe(s) in thearea that wasn't bred earlier, the bucks will be checking around where the does are eating, and the does bedding areas..Where in Ohio?

So now.. the NY dude who always makes a point to point out "what works in one state doesn't work in another".. is giving advice on hunting Ohio.. when he in fact hunts NY.
That's rich.

Show me where I supposedly said what works in one state won't work in another. You're making stuff up Duke. Give it a rest. Curious... just how old are you anyway?

And Duke, I have family there that hunt. I got my nephew into bowhunting. We talk Ohio bowhunting and deer 365 a year. I honestly think I have some experience in the state. At the very least with all the states I've hunted and the deer I've taken I feel I should beable to comment on the internet in response to a question without being called The Dude from NY.

We have been pm-ing during this time (back and forth).. and yet you reply with this.. on the public forum again?
Maybe I should be asking your age?
I love it.. NOT one word of disrespect has come from my fingures either in PM or in the public forum.. but here you are spinning back and forth between the two. Trying ever so hard to "slander" me.. as you put it on the public forum.
I don't do that game Mr Mil. I'm a better man than that.
But hey man.. do as you wish. Pull that age card. Call me the High schooler in front of everyone to read.
Seriously.. really.. c'mon man you're better than that.
Do as you wish.
