I would go prerut to get there when more bucks are trolling and looking and not locked up with does. I'd go the first week in Nov or the last in Oct. Bucks are ready, does are not. I'd look at those two weeks and pick the one with the darkest moon. Too early the bucks are still grouped up and you all or nothing. Later they're spreading out and trolling... many more chances of being in the right place. I don't care if it's Ohio or wherever... I prefer that time to hunt. The rut is fantastic if you catch it.... but it can also be really frustrating as all patterns go to hell.
So now.. the NY dude who always makes a point to point out "what works in one state doesn't work in another".. is giving advice on hunting Ohio.. when he in fact hunts NY.
That's rich.
I'm sorry David.. you're making this too easy lately.[8D]
Give it a rest Duke. I've hunted Ohio and Indiana 3 of the past 4 years. I've been successful. He ask a question, I've hunted there more than him. I gave him my thoughts. For future reference I've also hunted Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Hawaii, Pa, Maryland, Kentucky, Oklahoma. Give it a rest and get off my case.
Show me where I supposedly said what works in one state won't work in another. You're making stuff up Duke. Give it a rest. Curious... just how old are you anyway?
