Default With the season winding down...

With most everybody's seasons coming to a close, I know Wisconsin's deer kills where way down from past years, but how many times did you sit and how many deer did you see/kill. If you don't know the exact number just give a rough estimate. i sat maybe 30-40 times and saw 3 deer this bow hunting season all doe's and where i hunt the land owner does not allow me to shoot doe's for rut purposes so i did not kill a deer with my bow this year.

79 sits....201 deer sighted, from stand.

84 of these deer were Does. 48 were bucks. 68 were fawns. I've had 114 of these deer in bow range.

ALL of these numbers are "sightings".....and include deer I see on multiple occasions.

I've taken 4 does and 1 buck. I also think I killed another buck and recovered him, today. I have to decide, tonight, whether I will tag him or not. I'm leaning towards tagging him.

18 sits

55 deer seen while hunting

9 bucks
46 does

Killed 2 does and 1 buck

EDIT: I still have 46 days of hunting season left. And I will be able to hunt 30 of those, whenever I please.

My season was decent numbers wise. This year I had 14 sits seeing a total of 8 bucks and 13 does. This is only the third year I have kept track precisely. In 2007 (13 sits, 4 bucks, 15 does) and 2006 (6 sits, 11 bucks, 10 does). 2007 was a bad year with very high temps and low sightings. I wish I recorded my sightings back when I logged 40-80 sits in a season, I think my averages were actually a bit lower then as now I dont burn out stands.

I am confused; how do you "think you killed another buck and recovered him today" What is the think part? You obviously killed it if you recovered it, right? Isn't it the law to tag what you kill? I am confused.

My bow seasons don't close till Jan. 15th. And I still have tags and plan on hunting right up till the end. I have to wait toooooo long for it to open up again not to hunt every day I can.

I need to keep a log. I promised myself I will next year.
Rough setimates
Sits= a lot
Deer seen= more than the #of sits.
Deer killed=1 buck and 2 does so far.
Many more sits to come this season.
