If his chrono only said 298 he might wanna get it checked. Theres absolutely no way in hell that a bow with an IBO of 340 will shoot at 298 with only a difference of an inch on DL and 6 grains on arrow weight. Sooooo what I'm saying is 298 at 29" 70# is a lie to me. Is he a Bowtech supporter? Cause this would make much more sense that way.
Chrono seems to be working jus tfine on the other bows.

See bolded portion.....

So you read what he did and automatically think the "off" part has to be chrono? Interesting.

Yes. He's a Bowtech supporter. He sells them. He's also a Mathews supporter. He sells MORE of them. It makes no sense, to me, for him to lie about something that's so readily able to be checked. I'll be in there, tomorrow, and I'll so just that.

The bow DID have a WB and a D-loop on it....but nothing else.

Mathews for me is kinda like Penn State, or the Yankees. I don't really have anything against the team, it's the knucklehead fans that drive me nuts, the ones that scream we're number one all day everyday, even when it's obvious they're not. For example, I am an Oriole fan and I know we ain't number one, so I don't blindly scream it. I'll give the Yankees (Mathews) props when its due, but this round I will stay silent.
Substitute Bowtech for Mathews and Ohio State for Penn State and you just stated my sentiments exactly.[8D] This site is the world's worst on it as well. It has settled down some since back when people began picking up staff positions and a few people got the notion in their head that they too could be staffers, BT was pushed hard, but to no availe, the staffers were chosen, for good reason, and it was left at that.

My buddy must have a busted chrono then, he works at a mathews shop as well....they shot one with a light hunting arrow (IBO 350 arrow) at 29" and 70# and got 330...out of the 340 IBO bow.

If I wasn't a Hoyt shooter, I'd buy a Mathews. Next time I am in the market, I will shoot both lines and buy the one I like best. It isn't a brand loyalty really, just a shop loyalty kind of deal.

Fingerz have you ever read a archery book or mag. arrow weight, nock, d-loop all thos things slowthe Kinetic energy down in sense slow the arrow down quiet a bit., So yeah if you have all that garbage on you bow with a BOW Supposibly shooting 340FPS and only reads 298 on the chrono then yes im a taker...but we all know that alot of BOW companies say one thing and then do another..SO 340fps is the new 290ish.fps. You wouldnt say...

Tell ya what I'll do.....

I don't have a dog in this fight.....but I'll take my bow in as well and chrono it at the same time (I need to anyways). We'll know real quick if the machine is "off", but it's the same machine I've been using on my bows for years. I'll snap some photos.

I'd shoot a Mathews if I didn't shoot the bow I currently shoot. I killed a few deer with my Switchback and loved the bow.

Nor do I, just think something is wrong when numbers are off by over 40 fps when it should be closer to 10-15....maybe it is just alot slower than advertised....but my buddy called me and told me about getting 330....I wasnt there so I cant vouch for it.

I don't care if its off my 5 fps...that's still a lie IMO. I want an honest 340 if a company says it. Matt / PA claims that Bowtech didn't fudge their test setups a bit when they came up with their 09 IBO speeds. He says that people may even be surprised that their bow is a touch faster than toted. That's a theory that I can get behind.

BEN/ PA im with you man if it is advertised as 340fps it should not be chronoed at 300...its a lie why would i pay 899 for a bow that shoots suposibly 340fps when you can spend 500 and get a ligitiment 315-320fps bow..IMO thats False advertisment..

Anybody ran a bowtech through a chrono yet? Look at my signature and realize I shoot a guardian right now. I just want to know where the bowtechs fall compared to advertised numbers.

Bring it to my shop. I'll vouch for it before the jury. And I'll have all the new Mathews, Hoyts and Bowtechs in a row and we'll see whose closest.

Hell for old time sake I might even take you duck hunting.

All I gotta say here is that if that bow really only produced that speed and Mathews has certifed it at 340... then there will probably be a lawsuit. A few FPS is common place... heck 10 is even accepted.... but 42..... something is amiss... either there were additional excentrics on the string or what... I don't know.

How many times did he shoot it? This is a shoot through not a shoot over correct?
