This time of year...ANY time in the woods can be good. If you know its gonna rain, a great thing to have is a tree umbrella, if you plan on being out. That stupid thing has saved my butt numerous times. One of the best (though not needed too often thank goodness) relatively inexpensive items I've purchased over the years.

I've never been excited to hunt in the rain, but if it's a light rain, like what it's doing now, I'd sit in it. A tree umbrella would be nice though. I omce hunted in a downpour and my bow never shot the same again, so I get a little nervous.

I have to many friends that have taken P&Y bucks in the rain to EVER let it slow me down. buy quality rain gear and take only common sense shots. Besides, none of us get that much time to hunt that we can afford to miss a day that we planned to hunt. You can sit home, I prefer to sit in a treestand.

I don't mind the rain. Shotgun season is one story, but I worry about having to track a deer for any distance in a steady rain.

I just got in fromsitting in the pouring rain for four hours. I finally convinced myself that nothing was going to move with rain this hard. I actually know better. I figured I'd run home, warm up, put on my other rain suit and head out later in the afternoon when it slowed down a little. As I was driving the short distance back to the house, there out in the middle of a big winter wheat field stood a beautiful ten point.[:@]
