I've tried the bottle routine. It never fails that I knock it off andof course it hits the deck to the climber, bounces hits the side, then scrapes the tree before bouncing of a log, before falling into the leaveson the ground. All making enough noise to scare every deer in the county. I spit on the ground, though not a big spitter..

The only time I chew is when I'm golfing and hunting. I just spit it out every 20 minutes or so. Deer rarely if ever seem to mind.

BTW, I fish a LOT in the spring and summer. When I got my Lundin '07I made myself quit b/c I didn't want stains and spit all over the sides. Just quitting while fishing was one of the hardest things I've ever done. When I sold my old Starcraft it took me a couple hours to get the stains out of the carpet and off the sides.
