It's been quite slow for me since last monday. I've been seeing a few smaller bucks, all of them being 1 1/2 or 2 1/2. This morning I finally had a mature buck come past. He was a 10 pointer but had a g-2 busted off. He would have grossed about 126 like that. I passed on him. When he was almost out of my last shooting lane I noticed that he had quite a large body. It almost gave me second thoughts! [:-]

I sure hope that passing these decent bucks pays off. I've got 8 more days off of work and my trigger finger is starting to get itchy!

Hang in the Greg. I have been out filming my brother in law and have not been seeing mature bucks. One thing that strikes me this year is they have not been dogging the does like I have seen in the past. We have seen plenty of does but none with any bucks following. Heading back out....Good Luck

I wish I had what you call slow here in my woods. I have not laid eyes on a mature buck this year , hell I don't even know if I have seen a 80" buck!

It's been miserably slow for me this year. The only decent buck I've seen was that mid 120's I let go 3 weeks or so ago. I'm not seeing **** for buck sign anywhere in my woods, I'm starting to get a little frustrated.

Since October 30th I have seen 9 different bucks. Only one shooter but couldn't get off a shot. 5 out of my last 7 sits I have seen bucks, the other two days I saw zip. I am gonna be hunting hard this week. Most of my days I will be able to hunt from 6am-2pm...I am hoping to have one on the ground my sun-down on Saturday. If I don't, it won't be from lack of effort.

For me so far this year, ithas been the worst in recent memory for overall deer sightings, buck sightings, activity, buck sign in the woods, you name it, it's slow. I hope it picks up (for you and me).

its been slow here also in southern illinois. i have passed on a couple of 120-125" deer but here lately i have only seen does. Its been cooler here but high winds

I feel your pain too. It has been SLOW the last 2 weeks, painfully slow for me here in southwest WI. Heck, down right demoralizing! Today was a pick up though, 4 does to watch browse by the stand. No bucks following however. I'm hoping the low 20's tonight and cool temps and clear skies finally tomorrow and Tuesday ramp up the action ya know?

Same here, been seeing lots of young bucks until this afternoon I had a nice 8 come by dogging a doe. I grabed the bow but just couldn't do it. Had pretty good mass but short tines. Fairly wide too. Probably close to 120.
