Man...I'm worried
#1
Ok, so here is the deal. I just found out last week that my uncle, who owns our property decided he wanted to thin out some areas on our mountain that got hammered by the gypsy moth. He owns a big logging outfit here in central PA so he's doing it himself. Anyway, the area they are in right now, just so happens to be one of the main areas that feeds my "honeyhole" rut stand.
Now, a couple of years ago, he did the same thing. They were cutting literally 400 yards or so from my stand. I hunted it, regardless and saw more deer than I could imagine, even while I could hear the trees falling and the equipment running behind me. It doesn't bother the deer. The big difference with this year is where they are cutting this time.
I have all of next week off to hunt the rut. This logging thing, combined with the crappy weather we're having here right now really has me bummed out.
Just needed to vent a little. What do you guys think? Should I hunt it anyway or pack it in and move elsewhere?
