But over eatting in no where near being gay.
That is a sad statement. If you look at reality and not what an old book says, over eating can be harmful to you and others. For example, over eatingcan lead to manyhealth problems for yourself. Many children of unhealthly parents also have a unhealthy diet which cause them to be unhealthy. I think it's fair to consider that a form of child abuse. How is being gay harmful to anyone? Sure you can bring up STDs but has more to do with irresponsibility than it does being gay.

One of my biggest hang-ups with the bible is it seems to force people to judge others. One thing I can agree with from the bible is let he who is without sin cast the first stone. But then again, I don't consider homosexuality a "sin".
The Bible doesn't force anyone to "judge others." Quite the contrary, the Bible says, "Do not judge others!!" People (not the Bible) choose to judge or not to judge!
Force might have been a bad word. Cause would have probably fit better. Despite the bible saying not to judge others, that is exactly what happens time and time again. I'm not saying all christians do this, but it is not hard to find one that does. Anyone who thinks they need to pray for me to be "saved" is doing just that. You cannot honestly tell me that many christians reading my post have not thought exactly that.

So you say you do not believe the current torah or just about any English translation bible. Or Greek or Aramaic while we are at it?

Or do you just pick out the pieces you like?

My thought process is, if I don't believe in the Bible and Jesus Christ commands, I should be fishing Sunday morning. Or jamming out to the radio besides praying every morning.
I don't believe or live my life by any of it anymore. People picking and choosing which parts they live their life by is one of the hypocricies that drove me away from it.
Well, at least you took a side. I hate it for you and feel it may be the wrong side. But I guess thats better than being lukewarm.

I'm sure you're not the only one. If god has a plan for everyone, maybe this is mine.

Being completely honest in asking this:

Do any of you guys think that God's plan is for some people to just not "hear" or "follow?"

Religion is something that has never appealed to me. There have been some experiences in my life that have completely turned me off to it, CAtholicism in particular, but religion none the less. There are many of you in this thread that say that God has a plan for everyone, so in your minds is it possible that this is mine? Or, does the plan, regardless of who you are, have to involve God?

If you don't understand the question, please, let me know...not sure if I made that real clear in asking.

I do understand .... let me give you my take on a possible plan that God is working on, using this very thread ....maybe He ordained this thread ...... so that YOU would read it ....... I HATE religion .... I LOVE Jesus ...BIG difference .... I came out of a Religious system that teaches it's dogma over the pure Word of God ........ so God's plan was for YooperMike to read these responses .....hopefully for you to submit to Theredemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and subsequent resurrection and that alone....ifnot, then for you tostand before Him without anexcuse at the day of judgement....

Mike.... I enjoy reading your posts ... I sure hope one day to fellowship with you in Heaven

Thank you very much for that response PT. At this point in my life, I am comfortable with my religion, or lack thereof, but who knows, there may be a day where I want to know more or discover more about it. If you don't mind me asking, what denomination are you representing PT?

the bible says not to lay with a man as you lay with a woman. I agree some go after others forsomething when there just as bad. But over eatting in no where near being gay.
People try to put "sin" value on sin. It can't be done.
I agree. I don't think "gluttony" is any more appealing than homosexuality is in the eyes of God. Rationalizing that it is is a mistake.

Then it is apparent your do not believe in the bible because it says it is a sin.
I seem to remember the bible says do not judge a persons soul.
I do not judge weather some one is going to heaven or hell. I judge people on there actions. If your neighbor is a thief or a child molester do you let him in his house. If not you are judging him

He has a perfect plan for everyone. Only One followed that perfect plan--Jesus. The rest of us fall somewhere in between. I've made tons of mistakes in my life. There is no peace like knowing that you are following God's plan to the best of your ability. There is alot of difference between being religious and being in an active relationship with the Lord. The most religious people ever were the very Pharisees that put Jesus to death.

The Lord does work in mysterious ways. The next time your out before daylight, looking into a star-filled sky, or watching a gobbler strutting in the early morning sun---ask yourself "could something like this really happen by chance?" No way guys------no way.

I know my Master very well and I know his perfect plan includes a relationship with each and every person---including you.
