Yep, if you hit the liver he's dead and it's just a matter of locating him. Good luck and keep us posted.

Based on what you described, it sounds like it was a lethal hit....but he did go a long ways, especially for not being pushed. ??
A deer like that, I'd find a tracking dog if need be, even if I had to pay someone a pile of $$$. Good luck...keep us posted.

What part of the state are you in?
I'm heading to Kansas tomorrow afternoon from Missouri. Will be there through Saturday evening...if you would like another two sets of eyes and two more bodies, my son and I would be more than happy to work a grid with you! Sometimes it's just a matter of getting a few more bodies out there to help seal the deal!
If you're still looking by tomorrow afternoon, drop me a PM and let's see what we can set up! With the temperature in the 60's and 70's during the day now, if he is down, you're not focusing on the meat anymore (obviously) but on the recovery. This is a serious offer from a fellow hunter and outdoorsman!
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks guys! It just so happens that my son and I are heading to Kansas tomorrow afternoon, so it was a no-brainer to offer up some assistance. I'm wrapped up in his story and I'd love to see this guy recover what sounds like a really good animal. I would do the same for any of you who were within a 3 to 5 hour drive. I'm suremany of you would do the same for your fellow hunters in this situation. That's what makes us bowhunters a unique group! I feel that many on here are just like family. My offer stands!!
