Grunt calling
This is my first year bowhunting(formally a dog hunter)and I'm not sure if im using the gruntcall correctly. I typically blow into it for about a second then restand repeat about 2-3 times(buck grunt). Is this the correct method or should ibe doing something else?

RE: Grunt calling
I typically just make a series of short grunts like a buck makes while he's tending a doe. When it works it works, but from my experience you hardley ever see any deer. I guess you just need to have that buck in the right attitude to respond.

RE: Grunt calling
I like to do one long grunt fallowed by 3 or 4 short grunts. Last year I called a 6 and a 8 to me but this year I've had no luck with buck grunts. I like to use doe or fawn calls alot cause they amost always work for me calling in a deer. I've never called a buck with those ones but if I go for too long without seeing deer I use them to get the does over my way. The fawn call works the best for calling does and fawns over.
