The wonderfull roller cable guard that has been out for 20 something years.

Sorry,I couldn't help myself.

Aint nothing new, like a bridged riser that's over 30 years old and it's shoot through too.;)

YES ROB,I pointed that out last week when it was brought up that Hoyt copied Bowtech and posted pictures of that same (IDEA)design before. So much has been done in archery over the years that being truly innovative just isn't going to happen much anymore. All these design have definately been refined and are much better than they were but to say they are new is kinda like when Mathews followers says they invented the 1 cam.
Wow Fox, you take a stab and say you just had to with the roller guard and string stopper pics and I play along and you take offense? Sorry, I'll remember ya'll so sensitive. [8D]

Mikey S. That is so very, very cool. That's the first I saw that one. Man, talk about innovation, BACK THEN.....I'm thankful for all those guys today as we're seeing it all in real life action now. Master minds they were!

I kinda thought you'd check that one out Rob. They say history repeats itself....

Swampcollie....the .280 wasen't called the 7mm Express till 1979...;)I think they should of kept that name permanent though. It sounds cooler.

I think we all need to be thankful that in todays business world of company layoffs, buy outs and cutbacks, that we have multiple bow companies to bicker about. 10 years from now, there may only be 2 or 3...hopefully there will 10 more of them building even cooler toys for us to play with.

I just realized it's saturday nite and I'm playing on the internet with my face paint still on.....I'm gonna go shower and call a girl up or something....

Ahhh you old master you! Hell I never knew that! I thought they changed it because of some sort of soup up job they did on speed without exceeding pressure specs..... I think I remember someone telling me that they wanted to use it in the pump and auto line Remington was putting out at the time???

That article on Allen (which I had never read... but I had heard of him) was quite an interesting read. Pretty dang impressive really...

Nice post. I'malso waiting to see what Mathews comes out with for '09, because it's either that or an Admiral.

"Now I was waiting to see what Hoyy was going to introduce and all they come up with is the AlphaMax 32 and the AlphaMax 35 ???

Sorry but not real impressed from a company that used to be the Harley Davidson of the archery industry"

SwampCollie, it was more of a disappointed on the Lack of new offerings from Hoyt. Heck I haven't even put the Sentinel in my hand or the AlphaMax so to give an opinion on the draw or shooting, I can't. This is more about the lack of new intro's from Salt Lake, not the quality or which bow company is better....I hate those battles[:'(]

Local dealer that I deal with sells both companies, said that the AlphaMax should be in the store next week.

Elk, I gotta play the devil's advocate here..... you started this thread saying how you weren't impressed with the new Hoyts.... and you haven't even put your hands on one yet? How in the world can you give us your honest opinion if you haven't even SEEN the thing?

Rob,I wasn't taking offense, kinda short on time with my response cause I was in and out and it might have read that way, sorry.I was just having a little fun last night, and a couple beers.:DBUT,I should know that not everyone read my previous post about how all the designs we are seeing today are just refined versions of years gone by.

I really don't want to make this a my bow is better than your bow thread, just wanting to stick with the facts and check the feelings at the door.Hoyt has made some great bows but they have made some duds as well.

Rob,or anyone else that might know. There was actually a company that made an aluminum riser tech style bow (before Hoyt) but I can't remember who or find a pic of it.Does anyone know who it was?

It's interesting to me how bows are "regional". I don't know a single person around here who shoots Hoyt. I wouldn't know where to go to buy one within an hour of here.......and when mentioned in hunting circles here....they're kinda viewed as Yugo's are in car circles.

Obviously they're a good bow....and a good company. I did give them a fair shake a couple years ago before buying my Allegiance. At that time....the Trykon was their flagship bow. Man.....what timing, huh?.....lol.

I assume the Edsel was Ford's flagship model one year, too.;)
I find that interesting.I have a friend that was a sniper in the marines that lives in South Carolina that is a HUGE Hoyt guy and the way he talks, they reign supreme in his area.He is a hell of a shot as well. Also, from whatI understand,if you travel west, the Hoyt bows are very popular, especially when you get into the field archery areas out west.

I don't think Hoyt is the top seller at my shop.I believeMathews still holds that title but Hoyt is a close second and Bowtech is a distant 3rd.Not that ,that means anything, just that in our geographic region,it seems to be the norm.BUT,Bowtech is growing at a faster pase than either.

Thats interesting because I don't even know where a Hoyt dealer is in SC nor do I personally know a single person who shoots Hoyt. Every part of SC that I've hunted and lived in has been dominated by Mathews and recently BowTech.

Just did a search, there are only deealers in SC,he might just be in a hotspot or full of it.

There are 20 dealers in Ky alone.
