Default Preseason bucks everywhere, now vanished

I had scouted several nice deer that were on two trail cams everyday. Then a week before Oct. 1st they all disappear and have not been see since. I have hunted hard almost every day since Oct 1st and have not seen ANYTHING bigger than a six pointer. I think the bucks must have went on vacation to Hawaii or something because they sure disappeared. This season sure is starting out slow. How is everyone else doing in the woods?

Yup, I know what you're saying. It happens every year. You've gotta get them early. That's the sole reason why I believe Early Season might be the BEST time for some hunters. You can maybe catch them in their summer feeding patterns depending on when your season opens.

Thebucks haven't dissapeared! They have moved to one of their favorite food sources this time of year. You find an oak grove and you'll find the bucks. They are tearing up the acorns up here in the Nebraska/Iowa corridor.
