Hanging Your Bow?
#31
I love the EZ hangers..............but I have a bad habit of leaving them up in the trees. Nothing irritates me more than wacking a deer, descending with my summit, then looking up and seeing that sob still sticking out of the tree 25 feet up in the air.............[:@]

I bring some screw in hooks with me, but I use a holder that I have on the top section of my climber. It holds the bottom limb, so my bow is right at hand at all times. It is really convenient.

Mikey....
I hunt exclusively from a climber, now......but at $7-9 apiece.....it's not a terrible idea to leave them there when you know you're gonna hunt a certain tree multiple times a year. I've got a few "out there"....lol.
I set mine to have my bow at hand-height when I'm standing. I can still reach it from a sitting position....and I like to get the bow in my hand as soon as possible. I can do this without ever taking my eyes off the deer.
I've used the three arm hangers.....but I really like the 2-arm versions. These kind of things really go on sale at the end of the season......and that's when I buy a few, each year. Hopefully.....I'll have one about everywhere I tend to frequent in a couple more years. I hate carrying the things around!

The first hour of light and the last hour of light, I have my bow in my hands though.

I always like to have my bow in hand at the beginning and end of a hunt!

Oh I know what you're saying............but there's always that one day I go to a new friggin tree, and get up to hunting height, and reach into my summit pouch and that dam thing ain't there..............because I left in the tree the day before !!
I always carry 2 screw in steps with me though. The first one I use in case I needto get my stand on a tree that has a messed up base, double trunk etc....that step gets me 2 or 3 feet off the ground to stand on and fix my stand to the trunk a little higher than normal. Anybody else do that ??
The 2nd is a back up bowhanger.

How the heck does one hold the bow on your lap all day?! If I did that I would have dropped it 50x by now. Really how do you drink, eat,go into your pack, put your freezing hands in your pockets or muff, take a pee, scratch your butt etc???!!! I just don't get it.
